1. Jakie jest twoje ulubione miejsce w Stambule?
Emine: Trudno powiedzieć, bardzo lubię różne strony Stambułu – ale moja ulubiona jest Üsküdar.
2. Jakie jest tradycyjne jedzenie i picie w Stambule?
Emine: Rano możesz rozkoszować się Simit (obwarzanka z sezamem) lub Borek (ciasto nadziewane białym serem) popijając turecką herbatę. Na obiad polecam Köfte (klopsik uformowany w kształt kuleczki) i Ayran (napój wytwarzany z jogurtu i wody) w Sultanahmet Köftecisi a wieczorem możesz wstąpić do tradycyjnej restauracji np. Günaydın i zjeść kebab.
3. Masz jakieś wskazówki, o których nie jest napisane w przewodnikach?
Emine: Musisz koniecznie odwiedzić Emirgan park pod koniec kwietnia – wtedy kwitną tam tulipany. Zamów tu śniadanie lub obiad w jednej z sezonowych restauracji. Oprócz tego w pobliżu parku znajdziesz wiele miejsc, gdzie można tanio zjeść i kafejek z pięknym widokiem na anatolijską część Stambułu.
4. Twoja ulubiona restauracja/kafejka?
Emine: Lubię pić turecką kawę w Kahve Dünyası i rozkoszować się słodkościami w Özsüt.
5. Gdzie najlepiej się zatrzymać w Stambule?
Emine: To zależy… Jeśli masz zaplanowany tylko krótki pobyt w Stambule spróbuj nocować jak najbliżej Sultanahmet a będziesz miała więcej czasu na poczucie historycznej atmosfery tego miasta. Inną opcją jest wybrać miejsce blisko metra Üsküdar lub Taksim.
6. Jak najlepiej poruszać się po mieście?
Emine: Zawsze możesz używać transportu publicznego, ale jeśli chcesz poczuć niesamowitą atmosferę Stambułu postaraj się jak najwięcej spacerować. Ze strony anatolijskiej na azjatycką najlepszy jest krótki rejs promem, podczas którego możesz karmić mewy simitem.
7. Jakie miejsce polecasz na zakupy?
Emine: Mamy olbrzymi wybór centrów handlowych gdzie znajdziesz dosłownie wszystko. Sugeruje udać się do jednego z największych – Forum İstanbul. Jeśli wolisz małe butiki odwiedź Bakırköy. Jeśli szukasz typowo tureckich produktów znajdziesz je w okolicach Eminönü gdzie jak dopadnie cię głód koniecznie zjedz kanapkę z rybą pod mostem Galata (tania i dobra).
8. Który meczet podoba Ci się najbardziej?
Emine: Na każdym rogu spotkasz wiele niemalże identycznych meczetów, ale w Stambule jest także wiele unikalnych świątyń. Moim ulubionym jest meczet Sułtana Ahmeda. Wierzący przychodzący do niego czują taką samą atmosferę jak ludzie modlący się tutaj około trzysta lat temu. To naprawdę niesamowite.
9. Co powinni respektować turyści i na co uważać?
Emine: Jeśli planujesz wejść do meczetu pamiętaj o odpowiednim ubiorze. Krótkie spodenki i spódnice nie są tu akceptowane. Wewnątrz meczetu zachowaj ciszę, bo często jest tam wielu ludzi, którzy się aktualnie modlą. Oprócz tego ciągle uważaj na swoje rzeczy, trzymaj je blisko siebie..

1. What is your favourite place in Istanbul?
Emine: It’s hard to say. I like different parts of Istanbul – but my favorite is Üsküdar.
2. What is the traditional food and drink in Istanbul?
Emine: In the morning you can enjoy Simit (bagel with sesame seeds) or Borek (pastry stuffed with cottage cheese) sipping Turkish tea. For dinner I recommend Köfta (meatball) and Ayran (drink made from yogurt and water) preferably in Sultanahmet Köftecisi and in the evening you can visit the traditional restaurant e.g. Günaydın and eat kebab.
3. Do you have any tips which are not mentioned in guide books?
Emine: You absolutely have to visit Emirgan park at the end of April when tulips bloom. Order a breakfast or lunch in one of the seasonal restaurants. Apart from that, near the park you will find many places where you can eat cheaply, and cafes with beautiful views of the Anatolian part of Istanbul.
4. Your favorite restaurant/cafe?
Emine: I am fond of drinking Turkish coffee in Kahve Dünyası and enjoy the sweets in Özsüt.
5. Where is it best to stay in Instanbul?
Emine: It depends… If you have scheduled only a short stay in Istanbul try to overnight as close as possible to Sultanahmet and you’ll have more time to feel the atmosphere of this historic city. Another option is to choose a place close to the Taksim or Üsküdar subway.
6. How is it best to get around the city?
Emine: You can always take advantage of public transport, but if you want to feel the incredible atmosphere of Istanbul try to walk as much as possible. From the Anatolian to Asian side, it is best to take a short ferry ride during which you may feed seagulls with simit.
7. What place do you recommend for shopping?
Emine: We have a wide range of commercial shopping centers where you will find literally everything. I suggest you go to a one of the biggest – Forum İstanbul. If you prefer small boutiques, visit Bakırköy. If you look for the typical Turkish products you will find them around Eminonu where, if you get a little peckish, you can eat a fish sandwich under the Galata Köprüsü bridge (cheap and good).
8. Which mosque do you like the most?
Emine: At every turn you can see lots of almost identical mosques, but in Istanbul there is also a great number of unique temples. My favorite is Sultan Ahmet Camii. While visiting it, believers feel the same atmosphere as people who used to pray here about three hundred years ago. It’s really incredible.
9. What should the tourists respect and watch out for?
Emine: If you plan to visit a mosque, make sure you have the appropriate clothing. Shorts and short skirts are not allowed here. Inside the mosque you do have to keep silence because more often than not there are many people who are praying. Apart from that, watch your stuff, keep them closely…

Troszkę się przyczepię 🙂 „mostem Galata Köprüsü” – słowo „köprü” oznacza most, więc wystarczy „most Galata” i podobnie z „meczet Sultan Ahmet Camii” – „cami” oznacza meczet, więc tutaj powinno być „meczet Sułtana Ahmeda” lub zwyczajnie „Błękitny Meczet” 🙂
